A senior Hezbollah official has stated that the Lebanese resistance movement is now stronger than ever before, a fact that the Zionist enemy has witnessed firsthand.
Emphasizing the resilience of Hezbollah, Wafiq Safa, the head of the Coordination and Liaison Unit in Hezbollah, said on Sunday that the group is not only sturdier but also more steadfast than steel.
“Hezbollah is prepared for all challenges and will always stand firm in defense of the Lebanese nation’s morale,” he added.
He also gave assurances that there is no need for concern amid unfolding developments in Lebanon and elsewhere in the West Asia region.
Turning to the election of a new head of state to avoid a power vacuum and help stabilize Lebanon’s political landscape, Safa noted, “We have previously stated that Hezbollah has no veto on the nomination of the army commander as President of the Republic.”
He underscored that Hezbollah's capabilities have been restored, and it is ready to confront any aggression in the manner it deems appropriate.
Safa also stated that Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri will discuss Israeli violations with United States envoy Amos Hochstein.
Israel was forced to accept the ceasefire with Hezbollah after suffering heavy losses following almost 14 months of fighting and failing to achieve its goals in its aggression on Lebanon.
The truce deal came into effect on November 27. It will last for 60 days in the hope of reaching a permanent cessation of hostilities.
Under the agreement, an international monitoring committee, headed by the US, is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire.
Hezbollah has reiterated that it is in full possession of its capabilities, warning that it will respond decisively to Israeli forces occupying Lebanon once the ceasefire concludes.
Mahmoud Qamati, deputy head of Hezbollah's political council, in an interview with the al-Manar network recently, said that the group's missile stockpiles and capabilities remain intact, noting that they continued missile strikes against Israel right up to the moment the ceasefire took effect.
Qamati explained that the current restraint exercised by the resistance is intended to support the Lebanese population and to honor the commitments made to mediators during ceasefire negotiations to allow for a resolution of outstanding issues.
Berri has called on the Israeli regime to adhere to the ceasefire agreement.
Hezbollah opened a support front for Palestinians in Gaza only a day after Israel unleashed its campaign of genocide in the besieged territory in October 2023, launching numerous retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets in the occupied lands.
